The "charged" version of the open Audi A3 - S3 Cabriolet - was officially presented at the 84th Geneva Motor Show in March 2014, after which it was brought to international markets.
Like the "relatives" in the "third family", the convertible underwent modernization in April 2016, which made not only noticeable improvements in the design, but also did not disregard the technical component.
Well, to begin with, about specific numbers. The Audi S3 Cabriolet is 4434 mm long, 1388 mm high and 1793 mm wide. It turns out that "Esca" is 10 millimeters longer and 20 millimeters lower than the usual A3 convertible.
The "charged" convertible from Ingolstadt looks very stylish, energetic and attractive. And the standard car has a beautiful appearance, but here it is also supported by sporty S touches. The most noticeable elements are the chrome grille, metallized inserts in the front air intakes, aluminum-coated mirrors, 18-inch rollers with an original design, a powerful rear bumper and four oval exhaust pipes.
In terms of interior design, the Audi S3 Cabriolet almost completely repeats the salons of other "triplets". A truncated steering wheel, S-badges, digital instrument cluster and red accents are all the differences. The main thing is that the ergonomics are at a high level, the materials are of high quality, and the assembly is perfect.
The front seats are equipped with comfortable sports chairs with developed lateral support, the rear sofa is profiled to accommodate two riders. The luggage compartment with a folded fabric roof can hold up to 285 liters of luggage.
Specifications. The Audi S3 Cabriolet's engine is familiar from other compact ESCs. This is a four-cylinder turbo unit with a volume of 2.0 liters, producing 310 "horses" at 5500-6500 rpm and 400 Nm of peak thrust at 2400-5400 rpm. However, on the "charged" convertible, it is combined with the uncontested S tronic transmission, which transmits torque to four wheels.
In the "es-family" the car without a top is the least dynamic - 5.1 seconds to the first hundred, "maximum speed", like everyone else, is 250 km / h, the average fuel consumption is 6.7 liters.
At the heart of the Audi S3 Cabriolet is the modular MQB bogie. McPherson struts are mounted at the front, and an advanced multi-link design at the rear. The brakes are disc brakes in a circle, and the steering is with an electromechanical amplifier.
Options and prices. In the Russian market, the pre-reform version of the "es-three" with an open body is sold at a price of 3,170,000 rubles, but the updated car of the 2016-2017 model year will most likely not reach our country.
In terms of equipment, the two-door is in no way inferior to its "relatives" in the family.
