On the stage of the Guangzhou International Motor Show, held in November 2014, the Chinese-Israeli company Qoros presented to the world a new compact SUV called the 3 City SUV (although, in fact, it is just a "raised" hatchback), which entered the sale in the Celestial Empire market. The European premiere of the car was organized in March 2015 at the Geneva Bridal Show, however, he did not begin the expansion of the Old World.
Externally, the Qoros 3 City SUV looks attractive and balanced, and the "off-road attributes" in the form of a plastic body kit around the perimeter and high ground clearance add to its originality. The front of the car captivates with a stylish design with a "sharp look" bi-xenon optics and a powerful bumper, and the relief stern is distinguished by beautiful lanterns and a massive bumper with a pair of exhaust pipes. Quite good "Chinese" and in profile - "pumped up" wheel arches, which serve as a haven for 17-inch rollers, and the roof sloping smoothly to the "sirloin" part.
The golf SUV measures 4452 mm in length, and its width and height are 1854 mm and 1504 mm, respectively, with a 2694 mm distance between the front and rear axles. The ground clearance of the "equipped" car (in this state it weighs from 1390 to 1430 kg) does not exceed 170 mm.
The interior of Qoros 3 City SUV pleases with a modern and European fashionable architecture - an original "toolbox" with analog dials and a 3.5-inch color screen, a stylish multifunctional steering wheel, truncated at the bottom, and a beautiful center console with an 8-inch screen and an ergonomic "climate" unit ... Complete order at the car and with finishing materials - high-quality plastics and (depending on the configuration) fabric, a combination of fabric and leatherette, or genuine leather.
The five-seater interior of the pseudo-crossover is equipped with optimally profiled front seats with unobtrusive support on the sides and a large number of adjustments (in the "top" versions - with an electric drive). The rear seats are represented by a comfortable sofa and a sufficient supply of free space, but a high floor tunnel and a cushion shortened in the center hint that the third will be superfluous.
The arsenal of Qoros 3 City SUV includes a 403-liter cargo compartment with a convenient layout. The back of the "gallery" is divided in a ratio of 60:40 and fits almost flush with the floor, increasing the capacity of the trunk to 1105 liters.
Specifications. For the SUV from the Celestial Empire, a single gasoline engine is offered - an in-line four with adjustable valve timing, turbocharging, a distributed fuel injection system and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, the working volume of which is 1.6 liters (1598 cubic centimeters). The unit generates a maximum of 156 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 210 Nm of torque delivered to the front wheels at 1750-5000 rpm. There are two gearboxes, and both are six steps - "mechanics" and "robot" Getrag 6DCT250 with two clutches.
If it's better not to drive off-road on the Qoros 3 City SUV, then on a hard surface it demonstrates good results - from a standstill to 100 km / h, the five-door accelerates after 10.1-10.4 seconds and picks up 205-208 km / h of possible speed.
The "fuel appetite" of the crossover, depending on the modification, ranges from 6.8 to 6.9 liters for each "hundred" of the mileage in the combined mode.
The base for the "raised" hatchback is a modular front-wheel drive platform on which the power unit is transversely perched. The front wheels of the car are attached to the body by means of an independent suspension with MacPherson struts, and the rear wheels are suspended from a semi-independent structure with a torsion beam. By default, the 3 City SUV is equipped with an electromechanical power steering and disc brakes “in a circle” with a diameter of 305 mm at the front (in addition, with ventilation) and 285 mm at the rear.
Options and prices. In the Chinese market, the Qoros pseudo-crossover is sold at a price of 139,900 to 179,900 yuan (~ 1,620,000 - 2,085,000 rubles at the rate at the beginning of 2016), and in the near future it may reach Russia.
As standard, the car is equipped with halogen headlights with LED running lights, power windows for all doors, multimedia with an 8-inch screen, a four-speaker audio system, a pair of airbags, ABS with EBD and 17-inch wheel rims.
The "top" solution, among other things, "flaunts" bi-xenon optics, dual-zone "climate", electrically adjustable seats, ESP, ASR, Brake Assist and other modern equipment.
