Mercedes-Benz E-class Coupe is a two-door premium E-class coupe according to the European classification, which perfectly combines elegant appearance, advanced technologies and the highest level of luxury ...

The two-door car (with the in-house code "C238") in the fifth generation family is the third incarnation of the coupe (since there were no "two doors" in the second and third generations of the E-class) - it was first presented to the world community in mid-December 2016 in during the online presentation, however, he made his full-scale debut in January 2017 at the Detroit Auto Show, and a few months later he "showed off" in front of the European public at the Geneva exhibition.

This "yeshka" has surpassed its predecessor in all directions - from dimensions to "saturation" with progressive equipment.

The E-class coupe from Mercedes-Benz looks more like not the sedan of the same name, but two-door C- and S-class - a strict "face", a graceful silhouette and a powerful rear with narrow lanterns. But with all this, you will definitely not confuse it with "brothers", and all thanks to the small triangular windows in front of the rear roof pillars.

The dimensions of the two-door, of course, are inferior to the three-volume model: the length of the compartment is 4826 mm, the height is 1430 mm, and the height is 1860 mm. The clearance between the axles of the "German" is 2873 mm, and its "combat" weight varies from 1655 to 1735 kg, depending on the version.

The "inner world" of the Mercedes-Benz E-class Coupe is generally borrowed from the four-door, but it is not devoid of individual features - its ventilation deflectors are stylized as turbine wheels. There are no other differences here: noble design, luxurious finishing materials and an abundance of high-tech "gadgets".

Salon "yeshki" in a two-door body - strictly four-seater: the front riders are assigned perfectly profiled seats with heating and electrically adjustable, and the rear - quite comfortable seats with a sufficient margin of space in front of the knees and above the head.

In terms of practicality, the E-class coupe with the "C238" index is inferior to the sedan - its trunk in standard form holds 425 liters of luggage. The rear sofa folds in three sections in a 40:20:40 ratio, creating an almost level platform.

Specifications. In the Russian market, the two-door is offered in three petrol versions:

  • Under the hood E200 and E300 a four-cylinder M274 DE20 2.0-liter engine with direct injection, turbocharging and phase shifters at the inlet and outlet is installed:
    • in the first case, it produces 184 "horses" and 300 Nm of available torque;
    • in the second - 245 "horses" and 370 Nm of peak potential.
  • "Maximum" option E400 4Matic "Flaunts" 3.0-liter V-shaped "six" of the M276 series with direct "power", twin turbocharging and variable valve timing, producing 333 "stallions" and 480 Nm.

All engines work together with a 9-speed "automatic" 9G-Tronic and a rear-wheel drive transmission, with the exception of a six-cylinder - it mates with all-wheel drive, which shares the moment in the ratio "45:55".

Depending on the version, the car “passes” the first “hundred” in 5.3-7.8 seconds, is maximum capable of gaining 240-250 km / h and “eats” no more than 6.7-8.4 liters in mixed mode.

At the heart of the two-door Mercedes-Benz E-class is the "rear-wheel drive" MRA chassis with double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspensions. The car is equipped with conventional springs and amplitude-dependent or adaptive shock absorbers, and for a surcharge - also pneumatic elements.
In the "base" coupe can boast of electric power steering with progressive characteristics and ventilated brake "pancakes" on all wheels with a bunch of auxiliary "bells and whistles".

Options and prices. In Russia, prices for a two-door Mercedes-Benz E-class 2017 start at 3,240 thousand rubles - this is how much they ask for a modification of the E200. The intermediate version of the E300 cannot be bought for less than 3,730 thousand rubles, and the most "packed" version of the E400 4Matic is offered from 4,870 thousand rubles.
In terms of starting and additional equipment, the car almost completely echoes the sedan of the same name.
