In 1995, Mercedes-Benz introduced the second generation of the E-Class with the factory designation W210, which is popularly nicknamed "big-eyed" because of the peculiar layout of the front optics. The car lasted on the conveyor until 2002, after which it was replaced by the next generation model.

The second generation Mercedes-Benz E-class is a business class car that was available in two body versions - a sedan and a five-door station wagon.

The length of the big-eyed is from 4796 to 4839 mm, width - 1798 mm, height - from 1420 to 1506 mm, wheelbase - 2832 mm, ground clearance - from 142 to 160 mm. The car is not easy - its curb weight varies from 1450 to 1690 kg.

Over the years of production, more than 20 gasoline and diesel engines have been offered for the "second" Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
Gasoline units had a working volume of 2.0 to 4.3 liters, and produced from 136 to 279 horsepower.
Diesel engines with a volume of 2.0 to 3.0 liters developed an output of 88 to 177 "horses".
The engines worked in tandem with a 5-speed "mechanics" (since 2000 - with a 6-speed), 4- or 5-band "automatic". In addition, since 1999, the car has been equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission with Touch Shift manual gear shifting.
The drive could be either rear-wheel drive or full.

On the front axle of the second generation E-class, an independent double wishbone suspension is used, and on the rear axle, an independent 5-link suspension, in both cases with anti-roll bars. Ventilated disc brakes.

The advantages of the "second" Mercedes-Benz E-class are reliable design, prestige, good handling, powerful engines, comfortable suspension, excellent noise insulation, rich equipment, spacious interior, excellent ride and a lot of travel.
Disadvantages - expensive branded service, poor corrosion resistance, low ground clearance, unreliable electronics, high fuel consumption and poor cross-country ability (in versions with rear-wheel drive).
