Lifan X70 is a front-wheel drive five-door SUV of a compact class, which has a "budget positioning" and is addressed primarily to people from 25 to 45 years old (both men and women) who need a practical vehicle with a good level of comfort and a reasonable price ...

The car, designed in the future to replace the popular X60 crossover (but not immediately, while it is the brand's “sales locomotive” in Russia), debuted on September 21, 2017 - as part of the Lifan international dealer conference held in the Chinese city of Lijian ... and already in April 2018, its sales started on the Russian market.

Compared to its “predecessor”, this off-road vehicle has become noticeably more attractive and modern both externally and internally, slightly enlarged in size, received modernized equipment and “armed” with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine.

In appearance, Lifan X70 has some similarities with "South Korean SUVs", but at the same time it looks beautiful, proportional, fresh and quite solid.

The front view of the car attracts attention with a hexagonal “shield” of the radiator grille with chrome-plated transverse slats, a formidable “squint” of lighting technology and a sculptural bumper, and at the back it boasts stylish lanterns connected by a “shiny” crossbar and two “shaped” exhaust pipes.

In profile, the crossover demonstrates a harmonious and attractive profile with expressive sidewalls and large wheel arch cutouts, which are energized by glazing that extends over the C-pillars and creates a "floating roof" effect.

This is a typical representative of the "SUV of the compact class", which has the corresponding dimensions: 4390 mm in length, 1820 mm in width and 1715 mm in height. The wheelbase of the five-door is 2610 mm, and its ground clearance is 195 mm.

The curb weight is not less than 1460 kg, and the maximum weight should not exceed 1790 kg.

Inside, Lifan X70 pleasantly surprises with a cute and modern design, rational ergonomics and a solid level of assembly. The dominant position on the center console is occupied by a 9-inch screen of the multimedia center, below which the buttons and controls for the entertainment and climate functions are logically arranged.

And the "driver's workplace" does not cause any complaints - here you can see a stylish multi-steering wheel of optimal dimensions and an informative "dashboard" of instruments with two dials and an on-board computer display.

The interior of the five-door is finished with hard plastics and diluted with inserts "like aluminum", and the seats are already in the "base" dressed in artificial (but quite high-quality) leather.

The interior of the compact crossover has a five-seater layout: In the front there are well-profiled seats with tangible lateral support and wide adjustment ranges. On the second row there is a comfortable sofa, an almost flat floor and a sufficient supply of free space in all directions.

The luggage compartment volume of the Lifan X70 in the standard state is 419 liters. "Gallery", divided into two sections in the ratio "60:40", when folded, increases the capacity of the "hold" to an impressive 1988 liters, but does not form a completely flat platform. The necessary tools and a spare wheel are stored in the underground niche near the five-door.

For Lifan X70, a non-alternative gasoline engine is declared - this is an inline atmospheric "four" with a working volume of 2.0 liters (1988 cm³) with distributed fuel injection, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and variable valve timing, which develops 136 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque ...

By default, the crossover is equipped with a 5-speed "mechanics" and a front-wheel drive transmission, and as an option it is equipped with a continuously variable variator (all-wheel drive is not provided for it even for a surcharge).

From a place to the first "hundred" the car accelerates after 13.8 ~ 14.3 seconds (depending on the modification and, of course, in favor of the "manual" gearbox), and its maximum capabilities "rest" at 175 ~ 180 km / h.

Fuel consumption in the "combined cycle" is declared at the level of 7.5 ~ 7.7 liters of AI-95 gasoline per 100 km of track (the capacity of the fuel tank is 55 liters).

At the heart of the Lifan X70 is a front-wheel drive "bogie" with a transversely mounted power unit and a body, in the structure of which high-strength steels are abundantly involved.

"In a circle" the car is equipped with independent suspensions with gas-filled shock absorbers, coil springs and anti-roll bars: in the front - MacPherson type, in the back - multi-link architecture.

All wheels of the crossover are equipped with disc brakes (ventilated at the front) with ABS, EBD and other electronic assistants. The steering complex of the five-door is formed by a rack and pinion mechanism and a hydraulic control amplifier.

On the Russian market in 2018, Lifan X70 can be purchased in four versions - "Basic", "Standart", "Comfort" and "Luxury".

For a car in the initial configuration with a manual transmission, dealers ask for a minimum of 849,000 rubles. Its functionality implies the presence of: two airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill start assist technology, fog lights, ERA-GLONASS system, driver fatigue control functions, four power windows, an audio system with two speakers, a sensor light and other equipment.

A crossover with a variator is offered at a price of 959,900 rubles (with the "Comfort" version), and its "top-end" performance will cost from 939,900 rubles (with a "manual" transmission).

The most "sophisticated" five-door boasts: front and rear parking sensors, a media center with a 9-inch screen, electric drive and heated mirrors, "cruise", leather trim, heated front seats, air conditioning, sunroof, 18-inch "rollers", launch motor with a button and some other "chips".
